George and Cheryl Kent, returned to New Zealand after 20 years in Australia with the view to setting up their own business - no idea what or where at the time.  They travelled the length and breadth of the North Island looking for a town that they felt comfortable in.  As Geoge tells it, if they felt the same way on driving out of town as they did when they drove in, it was a place to take a second look at.  Waverley was it.

Has not been an easy two years.  The historical 120 year old Clarendon was pre-loved at best and needed a lot of determination and many hours hard work to bring her back to life.  It is an ongoing project but the doors are definitely open for business now and George and Cheryl are waiting to welcome everyone who passes through and takes the time to stop, stay and have a look around.

	The Clarendon has eight double and twin single bedroom accommodation - all linen provided   The rooms have been fully refurbished and offer travellers a comfortable nights sleep. The bar hosts a TAB on site with a separate gaming room. The only ATM machine in Waverley can be found here.  There is plenty of off street parking available.
